先日アメリカ人チューターのSophiaとRJがオンラインゲームイベントを行いました。RJがイベントの様子をレポートしますのでぜひご覧ください。

　On Saturday, April 24th, we held an online English event hosted by our English tutors R.J. and Sophia. The idea for this event was to have students learn some games that can be used to practice English.
　The first game was “2 truths, 1 lie”. This is a good game to use if you are in a group of people who do not know each other quite well yet. This kind of game is called an “ice-breaker”. Each player has to prepare 3 statements about themselves. 2 have to be true, and 1 has to be a lie. Then, the other players can ask questions and try to guess which one is the lie. We were able to learn a few things about each other with this game!

　4月24日（土）に英語チューターのRJとSophiaの2人がオンラインイベントを開催しました。なぜ本イベントを開催したかと言うと、ゲームを通して実用英語を学生に学んでほしかったからです。
　一つ目のゲームは「2 truths, 1 lie」です。まだお互いによく知らない人同士のグループでするにはとてもいいゲームなんですよ。ちなみに、このようなゲームは「ice-breaker」と呼ばれています。それぞれのプレイヤーは自分自身について3つ話を用意します。2つは本当で、1つは嘘の内容です。他のプレイヤーは質問し、どれが嘘かを推測していきます。私たちはこのゲームでお互いのことを少し知ることが出来ました。

　Next, we played a game called “Scattergories”. This game is a bit more difficult. There is 1 letter chosen at random from the English alphabet, and 12 categories. For example, the letter might be “F”, and the categories would be a country, something you have in your kitchen, etc. Then, everyone has 2 minutes to think of a word starting with the letter “F” to write for each category. But, be careful! If another player also writes the same word, you both don’t get the point. After the 2 minutes, everyone shares their answers, and whoever has the most points wins.

　次に行ったのは「Scattergories」というゲームです。このゲームは少し難しくなります。英語のアルファベットの中からランダムに一つ選びます。そして12の質問に答えていきます。例えば、選んだアルファベットがFの場合、Fから始まる単語を思い浮かべていきます。質問にはa country, something you have kitchenなどが書かれています。全員2分間、Fから始まる単語を考え、紙に書きます。でも、注意しなければいけないのは、もし他のプレイヤーと同じ単語を書いていたら、二人ともポイントをもらうことが出来ません。2分後、全員で思いついた単語を発表し、だれが一番ポイントを獲得したかを決めます。
