Melissa and Mireya visited Bunkyo kindergarten, which is another kindergarten affiliated to Bunkyo Gakuin University, located in Tokyo.

They met Executive President Akiko Shimada and had lunch together. Ms. Shimada is a long-time friend of Ken Murakami living in Aptos who is a central figure of our two programs sending students from Bunkyo and Cabrillo.

They visited Meiji Jingu, or Meiji Shrine, after lunch. Today Meiji Jingu is one of the most serene and peaceful places you can find in the busy city of Tokyo. It is just a one minute walk from busy Harajuku station.

Harajuku being one of the most fashionable and trendy areas in Tokyo. In particular, Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street) is always crowded like this! They could enjoy this contrast between holy atmosphere and secular world!
