日本紹介の最後に、紙相撲をするために自分のお相撲さんを作ってもらいます。紙コップを半分にしたシンプルなお相撲さんに飾り付けをしているところです。
Then they presented how to make a paper sumo wrestler. Children decorated their own wrestlers out of paper cups.

それぞれのお相撲さんができたら、台の上に置いて紙相撲をします。みんなとてもよく楽しんでくれたようです。
Sumo wrestlers were placed facing each other and manipulated (either indirectly by vibration of the playing surface or with a finger) until one either falls or is moved out of the playing area. They enjoyed playing paper sumo wrestling.

こちらはディスカバリールームと呼ばれている２年生のクラスです。ここでは、ビュンビュンゴマの説明と遊び方を紹介して、それぞれ自分のコマを使って遊ぶようです。
This is a Discovery Room for 2nd graders. These students showed a Byun-Byun koma, (zinging top=spinning top) and taught how to play it. Byun-Byun koma is a traditional Japanese toy.

すでにできているコマをそれぞれに渡して、それに絵をかいて色を塗ってもらいました。回した時の色の面白さを楽しんでもらいたかったのですが、回すことに一生懸命になっている子どもが多かったですね。なかなかうまく回せない子もいましたが、うまくできている子もいて、それぞれに個別の指導が必要のようでした。
They gave a Byun-Byun top to each student and he/she drew a picture and colored it. Then they were holding both ends of the string, turning it inward 40 or 50 times. They repeat pulling them apart and loosing them again to make it turn. It may be a little harder for some of them (even for Japanese), so they need to practice for a while.
