日曜日の午後からホストファミリーの一軒の家で、ほとんど全員の家族が集まってのパーティーが開かれました。自然に囲まれた大きな家で、この家の下の方にはプールとトランポリンなどの遊び物が置いてあり、子どもたちの格好の遊び場です。

Almost all the host families got together at Lisa and Tom’s house this afternoon. It’s a pot luck party. They have a big beautiful house with a pool, the trumplin, and putting golf for children to enjoy. Thanks to Lisa and Tom, we enjoyed Hawaiian barbecue and meeting other families.

学生たちも水着に着替えて早速プールへ。他の家の子どもたちともこのように遊びながら楽しめるのはいいですね。

Some students were wearng bathing suits and jumping into the pool. It was fun to play in water with many children.

手前の小さなプールは温水で気持ちがよくて一回入ると出られなくなるようです。他の家族とも知り合ういい機会で学生たちが自分から紹介し合っているところがあちらこちらに見受けられたのは１週間の収穫です！

There is a hot tub on this side in the photo. Once you are in the hot tub, it is difficult to get out! Nothing like a hot tub after a long first week of work and play! This is a great opportunity to get to know other families. They tried to say hi without hesitation when introducing themselves to someone.

部屋の中では、ピアノの演奏会が始まっていました。けんさんの息子のLucioがJazzの曲を披露してくれました。

Inside the house, Lucio was playing a Jazz piece on the piano. That’s cool!

そのお返しに、ゆかさんがショパンのノクターンを弾いてくれました。何か人前で披露できるものがあるのは場が盛り上がっていいですね！

In turn, Yuka played Chopin’s Nocturnes. A good job!
