ジーンのレクチャーは、カブリヨ大学の幼児教育理念がどのように実践されているのかについてでした。具体的な事例をメリサンドがアシスタントとして補足説明してくれたので、わかりやすかったですね！
Jean talked about Cabrillo’s ECE philosophy including play based curriculum, individualized/emergent curriculum, child and family centered, conflict resolution, peace library, and pro-diversity. Melisande also gave us some examples she experienced in Japan.

「子どもたちのいざこざの解決方法をどのように教えることができるのか」が、このスライドのテーマでした。これは平和教育の中心課題で教育の最終目的は子どもたちと一緒にこの世界を誰もがより過ごしやすい場所になるように変えていくことにあります。
In this slide, we learned how you teach conflict resolution. Peace education centered on conflict resolution. The final goal of education is to change the world with children so that we can make this world a better place to live for everyone.

Children’s Centerの子どもたちが帰った後に、特別に室内をみせてもらいました。こんなお人形もおいてありました。皆さん、ジーンの講義の中で出ていた肌の色の違いに気づいたでしょうか。
We had a chance to look inside the three rooms of Children’s Center after all children had left. Have you noticed that these dolls have different skin colors Jean talked about in the lecture today?
