Finally today was the last day of the official program. Michaelyn and Gloria spent half a day preparing a talk for their presentation. They began their presentation at 5:45pm from the first slide of “We love Japan.” They told us how they have grown as people during this journey by showing beautiful photos and thoughtful comments. Their audience was interested in listening to them.
ついに、今日がプログラム最終日です。二人は、夕方から開かれる報告会の準備に、半日くらいかけていたようです。彼女たちの報告は「日本が大好き」のスライで始まり、３０枚にも渡りました。日本の文化や幼児教育の理解をしただけではなく、この２週間で、自分たち自身のいろんな面での成長を感じたそうです。学生たちも興味を持って聞いていたようです。

After the presentation and a Q and A session, we held a farewell party. All the host families joined us in the party and talked with Michaelyn and Gloria about many experiences through sharing their sweet memories.
報告会とその後の質疑応答終了後は、送別会となりました。ホストファミリーも全員来てくれて、楽しかった思い出に花が咲いたり、感動のあまり思わず涙ぐむシーンもありました。

Ms. Shobuzawa, an art teacher, gave Michaelyn and Gloria hanging scrolls which she made of their ink paintings. They look so creative and beautiful!
造形表現のクラスで二人が描いた水墨画を、菖蒲澤先生が掛け軸にして持って来てくれました。それぞれの絵に特徴があって美しいです！

They also got Certificate of Completion for the program. The party went on and we had a great time.
I finally told them that it was a great pleasure having them with us in our university. We really appreciate their active participation and contribution on this program. For instance, they read a lot of books in English and Spanish to children at the kindergarten and listened to Bunkyo students speaking in their broken English. It was amazing about their language comprehension skills and effort to make the discussion interactive. We had a wonderful time with them. We will be missing them so much. We wish them good luck for their future. I hope you’ll enjoy your last weekend in Japan before leaving.
二人には大事な終了証も渡して、２週間のプログラムも無事終了となりました。
今年もカブリヨからの留学生を文京に受け入れることができて、とてもよかったです。二人が積極的に子どもたちと関わってくれたり、たくさん英語やスペイン語で絵本を読んでくれたり、文京の学生の英語を理解する努力をしてくれたことに感謝したいと思います。また日本を訪れて会えることを期待しています。この経験がそれぞれの将来に活かされますように。また最後の週末が残っています。日本での残りに日々も楽しんでから帰国の途に着いてください。
